Well-come to another SEO lesson, in today’s lessons i want to cover the topic of Anchor text.
So, what is Anchor text? Well, Anchor text is the text you see in a web page that you click on and that will take you from page your currently on to a new page or website. For example the text you see on the screen the words Traffic Generation techniques are the Anchor text and if we look at the code for the page, we can see that the Anchor text is simply the code for the link with the text showing up in place of the URL link. I made the exact syntax blue for you and hopefully it’s big enough for you to read. Alright, now let’s cover why Anchor text is important.
Well this is one of the ways search engine like Google figure out what your site is all about. You might be thinking Google should just be you know read my page and figure it out but you know the way Google sees it is i can do that but they think that’s a bit too easy to manipulate.
For example if a restaurant tells you that there it’s the best restaurant in town do you gonna believe him?
